Thibodaux Family Church is a cell-based church believing in the
priesthood of all believers. Our mission is to train, equip, and
release every church member to do the work of the ministry (Eph.
4:11-12). We believe the most effective way to do this is to meet
weekly "in the temple and house to house" (Acts 2:46).
We believe the body functions best when there are strong, loving
relationships between the brethren.
Thibodaux Family Church is a Cell Church
A Cell
Church is people-centered versus program-centered. The focus
of the church is to meet the intimate needs of its members and
non-Christians.
A Cell Church is a community-centered versus building-centered.
The ministry of the church is decentralized and occurs in the
homes and lives of church members and in the community.
A Cell Church has a "go" structure versus a "come"
structure. The Church is organized to go out to meet and reach
non-Christians where they live. Evangelism in a Cell Church is
designed to take place primarily through the cells or Home Groups.
A Cell Church's organizational structure is based on ministry
versus education. The church is structured for ministry to people
through the use of spiritual gifts. Emphasis is upon application
and "Doing the Work of the Ministry" as an overflow
of lifestyle.
A Cell Church's members are released to build relationships with
and minister to non-Christians, rather than spend most of their
time on activities and committee meetings at the church building.
A Cell Church is patterned after the New Testament church. It's
leadership style is the servant-leader and "every member
a minister" versus the bureaucracy and professional ministry
pattern of Western culture.
A Cell Church emphases relational evangelism rather than confrontational
evangelism.
A Cell Church is a living body. If the Celebration service is
discontinued, the church would still exist and grow -- for the
church is the cells and not a building.
