| Who
Are We?
Thibodaux Family Church was established in October of 1999 as
a Bible-based Family Church. We are a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization
and is duly recognized by all government agencies. Since the time
of its inception, Thibodaux Family Church has grown from 12 members
in a home Bible study to a growing local congregation whose headquarters
will occupy a 10 acre tract of land in Thibodaux, Louisiana adjacent
to Highway 20.
Thibodaux Family Church is a friendly church with a strong home
Bible study outreach program, an excellent worship team, and a
great children and nursery program. We are a young church but
are blessed to frequently enjoy the preaching and teaching of
nationally and internationally known speakers. We are a multi-racial
church, reflecting a demographic mix roughly equivalent to our
area.
We are endeavoring to reach out to the many unchurched residents
of the area. We open our arms to all, regardless of nationality,
gender, race, and religious affiliation. Therefore, a full range
of activities and opportunities are scheduled to help foster friendships
and share opportunities. Further, we help strengthen families
by providing family counseling, parenting seminars, vacation bible
schools, weekly children's ministry, weekly teen ministry, and
prayer support.
Thibodaux Family Church is governed by elders from within our
congregation. Pastor Bland is our senior elder. The primary roll
of our internal elders is to help with the work of the ministry
and to guard doctrinal purity. Pastor Duane, with the help of
God and the advice of the elders, makes the business and administrative
decisions for the church. He has submitted himself to a Board
of Presbyters made up of three ministers with impeccable reputations
and many years of experience in the ministry. Our presbyters provide
an external voice that adds great stability to our church.
Thibodaux Family Church is an independent community church. Though
independent in the legal sense, it has many healthy relationships
with various denominational and non-denominational churches. We
have strong beliefs, but choose to be tolerant of others and to
partner with other churches for the furthering of the Kingdom
of God. We choose to unite based on the beliefs we hold in common,
rather than divide based on our differences.
Thibodaux Family Church is and will continue to be a positive
force in the community. We promote: healthy lifestyles, strong
marriages, commitment to family, care of the poor and needy, celebration
and joy in the community, giving birth to new businesses and ethical
business practices, living in accountability with senior men of
God, and demonstrating wisdom in living a Biblical lifestyle.
